Don Kees was born and raised in West Virginia but has lived in Roanoke since 1988.  After serving as a pediatrician for 35 years, he retired from Carilion Clinic in Dec 2023.  At Carilion he held various leadership roles and educated medical students and residents.  His practice was dedicated to the care of hospitalized children. 

Don married his high school sweetheart, Diane, and together they raised four children.  They now have seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.  Don was blessed to have had believing parents who taught him how to pray and study God’s word from a young age. He has had the opportunity to worship in various church traditions over his lifetime.  Don and Diane are grateful that God led them to Wellspring over 10 years ago, where they can continue to grow in their faith and the use the gifts God gave them to serve others. In his free time, Don enjoys playing competitive volleyball, skiing in the winter and all other things outdoors especially if he can share these experiences with any members of his family.
